Practical A: Storify Article
I have rewritten the interview from week four for Storify. As advised I have to change the direct quotes in order to elaborate the story. This is my first story on Storify. I am not a good writer and I can make up the story like the authors. I tried to write, hopefully, is readable.

Event Planning
The event I am planning to attend is “Visual impact Sydney 2016”. It is a printing exhibition for the printing and the business, graphic designer, and student. From the event, I will live tweet and after attending the event I will publish a Storify article.

All the local printing and graphic industrial business related people will attend the event. This event will focus the future of the industrial invention for the printing business.

There are so many things, we can learn and watch from this event. As a digital Media student, we should know what is going on the industry and know technology and use of it.

The article will include the photo, video and the information about new technology. The different company will demonstrate their product and how is work. I will try to cover the most advanced technology.

Week 5 (Media Writing COMM-11007)


Week 5 task, we need to open a Storify account and browse some other account. It easy to open an account is only need to provide a username and email address and set a password to log in the account.

It is easy to find the story on the site. Most of the story is the link to twitter as well. The Rio Olympic is going on a lot of stories are from Olympic. My favorite story is “Bolt sign off with triple-triple”. Bolt got 9 gold medal in three Olympic.

The second task is to find a social media site and write a short review about the site. I have chosen the “Flicker”. “Flicker is an online photo repository, it’s now part of Yahoo, it is an incredibly popular site for sharing photos and creating galleries. It also acts as a neat resource for finding Creative Commons images for use on blogs and other sites.” David, (2010).

“According to this Yahoo Flicker advertising pitch page, there are currently 51 million registered Flicker members.” Thomas, (2011). Although yahoo doesn’t disclose active accounts, but if I guess I’d speculate somewhere between 10-20 million and I could totally be wrong on that. Many people don’t have Flicker account but visit the page to find the stock pictures.
I have chosen this social media because I have a Flicker account and I love the site more than Instagram and twitter. On this site, I can browse the different photographer work and it inspires me to get out and take pictures. Also, I can share my pictures who are similar passionate like me.

Week 4 (Media Writing COMM-11007)

In this week task, I have interviewed my elder brother and his wife.  Both of them agreed to share information with me.



My brother (Mesbha) has two daughters, elder daughter is 11 years old and the younger one is 1.2 years old. Both of them said their kids are the most important of their life. By the blessing of Almighty, they full fill the family and will carry their legacy. Mesbha said, “I feel complete and happy when I see their happy face”.

My sister-in-law ( Afrose) has left the job to take care of the kids. She said, “ I am willing to do anything to make them happy and it is the best time when I am with them”. Because of that, she leaves her job.

I asked “why” the kids are most important. From both of them, the answer was “you will understand when you will have kids”.  There are no words to describe the feeling when I see the happy.

Mesbha and  Afrose said, “now there kids happiness become their happiness”.  The end of the day, every thinks I am doing  only for my kids bright future, Afrose Said.

I had a hard time to write this task. I never interviewed any person before, also it is impossible for me to describe their feeling in the word how they feel  about kids and why they are so important. I don’t have the experience or capability to convey the story should be present.

Week 3 (Media Writing COMM-11007)

This week blog is about Plan news Stories and Prepare for Assignment 2. One of the event I have to cover a news story and post the tweet using event #Tag .

Two events I have chosen, they are the very different kind of event. One of them is call “Festival of the Winds 2016” and another one is “Visual impact Sydney 2016

Festival of the Winds 2016 will be on iconic Bondi Beach on 11 September 2016 . There will be large kites, small kites, box kites, fighter kites, delta kites, cultural kite, animal kites and wondrous colorful cartoon character kites. This is an annual event and I been this event on 2014. It will be held in the public place and there is no restriction on taking photos.

The second event I am planning to attend is “ Visual impact Sydney 2016”. It will be on 15-17 September 2016. “Visual Impact Exhibitions, combined with Image Expo, hosts bi-annual exhibitions to showcase the latest and greatest in the Visual Graphics Industries, which include signage, digital printing, engraving, routing, awards, vinyl application, design, airbrush, screen printing and display solutions.”

The event is free for the visitors but needs to register online before going there. I have registered online for the ticket and got the ticket. As I am working and studying in printing and digital industry, I am really looking forward to attending the event and watch the new technology.

I visited http://trends24.in/australia/ and the top news story has caught my eye is “QUADRANGULAR A-TEAM ONE-DAY SERIES (AUSTRALIA)”. In this matches Australia A team score only 107 against South Africa A team. It seems like Australia A team will lose badly in the match. So far South Africa A team score 95 and lost 2 wickets only. Next match Australia A team next game against National Performance Squad.

Week 1 (Media Writing COMM-11007)

Different Purpose/Different Writing

The both articles introduce the same information in a different way. The Racing Queensland unveils league legend Slater as the official ambassador. Though the stories are the same and presented in a different way.

This first article is a “Media Statement” from Racing Queensland. The second news is a “News article” from the Gold Coast Bulletin. Both stories present the same main message of Billy Slater becoming Racing Queensland’s new ambassador.

The first Media statement focuses on how Racing Queensland can be benefited and increase popularity racing Queensland by appointing Billy Slater. The media statement also focuses on how Slater’s massive profile, knowledge, and experience will benefit Racing Queensland in near future.  He already has a huge fan in all-around Australia, especially in Queensland. Also how Billy has strong links to the racing industry. Ms. Grace said “Billy Slater is more than just a league legend, he’s a great Queenslander who connects with sports fans throughout the State,”.

The news articles from Gold Coast Bulleting presents the story in more details its focus Billy Slater’s involvement with horse racing from the past history. It also coated his past racing “Along with spending six months riding track work for Waterhouse as a 16-year-old, Slater has also owned his fair share of horses over the years with “minor success” Davidson wrote. Also, news article finishes on the touched of controversial “Live-Baiting” scandal issue.

I am not a big fan of horse racing or rugby personally this news does not matter to me.  For my research,  I  have been followed with this article on social media and local news. And this may allow Billy to promote the events on a bigger scale to his fan and sports lover  as not everyone follows these news feeds.
